Avalon Waterways, part of the Globus family of brands, launched its first river cruise vessel in 2004 and will have a European river fleet of 14 vessels when it launches the Avalon View in 2020; it also sails two ships on the Mekong River. With the debut this year of the Avalon Envision and the retirement of a few older vessels, the entire fleet now comprises so-called panorama suite ships, offering cabins with beds that face glass doors that can be opened to create a balcony.
